How to Complete Shrine Vault Puzzle in Silent Hill

When first interacting with the Shrine Vault puzzle, Hinako will mention that something is missing. Aside from not knowing the code for this lock, you will also need to find a piece of the lock itself, but do not worry, as they are linked. After saving your game at the Hokora, make your way back to the laughing Inari statue through the wooden plank path on the left.

Here, a small cutscene will play out showing a red doll with an item. Interact with the doll to find out the main clue for this puzzle. After reading the text, you will find yourself face-to-face with a new, horrifying enemy that you will have to deal with, using your Kaiken.

The enemy has two attacks that you need to watch out for. The first attack is where it will perform an overhead strike that can be countered as you see the red glow on it by pressing the R2/RT on your controller. The second attack is a nine-hit combo where the final hit is the same overhead slam that can be countered.

How to Find the Correct Emas in Silent Hill f

Though the enemy will go down, it will not die completely and will get back up shortly. Because of this, it is best to complete this puzzle quickly. If you can manage to complete the puzzle without getting hit, you will get a trophy/achievement as well.

With the enemy temporarily dealt with, head over to the Emas and check whether any of them have a Lightning, Decayed Tree, or Kudzu in them. These are three terms mentioned in the hint you got from the doll.

Once you spot an Ema, you need to flip it to reveal a symbol. Once you flip all three Emas, you will get the Combination Lock Dial and the correct symbols for all three terms from the hint. It is important to note that the Emas are not all together, so you will have to explore the area to the left of the main gate in the Shrine to find more hanging Emas along with an Omamori.

Story Difficulty Solution

For the story difficulty, finding the Emas is much easier. Once you have acquired the code, enter the following sequence:

• Circle with a horizontal line going through it
• Circle with a vertical line inside it
• A snake-shaped 2 with a small v inside

Hard Difficulty Solution

Head back to the Vault Shrine and enter the following sequence:

• Circle with two small lines inside.
• Circle with a curved vertical line and a horizontal line going outside the circle.
• A square with a reverse capital J in between.

Lost in the Fog Difficulty Solution

Here is the solution for this difficulty:

• Circle with two small lines inside.
• Circle with an upside-down capital Y.
• A snake-shaped 2 with a small v inside

This completes the puzzle, and you will get the Stone Key, and after a small running sequence, this chapter will be concluded.
