Ghost of Yotei: All Bamboo Strike Locations

Players can find 15 Bamboo Strikes in Ghost of Yotei, and each of them will help to increase their total Spirit, allowing them to heal in battle and use powerful attack moves. Spirit is essential to staying in the fight, making it important for Atsu’s vengeance as she fights and kills her way through Ezo to get to the Yotei Six. All Yotei Grasslands Bamboo Strike Locations in Ghost of Yotei

1 – Father’s Bamboo Strike

This is the first Bamboo Strike you can find in the Yotei Grasslands, and it’s available directly at your Home. You can find the Bamboo Strike on the north-west ledge of the cliff. Simply interact with the destroyed stand to repair it and test your blade against it.

2 – Nupur River Bamboo Strike

Head upstream of the Nupur River until you reach near the Maw of the Serpent. From here, take a sharp left and head west, where just above the Crow’s Nest Watchtower, is this Bamboo Strike location. You’ll need to speak with the NPC here to get him to move out of the way.

3 – Mountain Trail Bamboo Strike

The Mountain Trail Bamboo Strike is automatically achieved during “The Way of the Dual Katana”, a Main Tale that unlocks once you enter Ezo for the first time. Simply head west of the Yotei Grasslands to enter the Mountain Trail, where you will meet an old master. This Bamboo Strike has a gimmick that only uses the left side of the controller, so it can be a tad trickier than most.

4 – Yotei River Bamboo Strike

Head north of the Yotei River, just above the “Y” on the map, to locate this Bamboo Strike, which is on a hill among the white trees, where foxes and a bear cub will watch you master your abilities. Don’t worry, there’s no mama bear that will come and eat Atsu like salmon for messing this challenge up.

5 – Matsumae Encampment Bamboo Strike

Once you reach the Matsumae Encampment with the Jubei during “The Oni” Main Tale, you will come across a Matsumae Samurai who challenges you to show your power through the Bamboo Strike. Beating this Bamboo Strike also rewards you with a fancy new hat, and an opportunity to embarrass Jubei in front of his Matsumae colleagues.

6 – Urara Bamboo Strike

Head east of Ishikari Fork into the Urara Forest, where you will find the Oni’s Breath Inn. To the right of the Oni’s Breath Inn is a Bamboo Strike activity, and completing it rewards you with a broken demon mask, which is deserved after the heckling from the onlookers.

7 – Rumoi Bamboo Strike

Further north of the Ishikari Plain, you will reach the Rumoi River. Just above and between the “O” and “I” on the map, is the Bamboo Strike on a hill. You’ll find a settler here that you will have to move out of the way, but that’s easily achieved by either bribing him for 200 coins or sparing him. Don’t worry, it’s a friendly spar, so you won’t be gaining a new enemy.

8 – Huranui’s Rest Inn Bamboo Strike

Head to Huranui’s Rest Inn to find this Bamboo Strike. In order to actually start the Bamboo Strike, you must consume 2 bottles of Sake, which is achieved by holding Down on the D-Pad. In your drunken state, you can now complete the Bamboo Strike. There are Sake bottles here for you to drink, or you can purchase them from merchants.

9 – Misty Valley Bamboo Strike

The Misty Valley Bamboo Strike is found in the south region of the Tokachi Range, past Shizunai Woods into the Abandoned Tominaga Estate. This Bamboo Strike only becomes available once you have started or completed “The Spider Lily General” Mythic Tale, so simply approach the Mysterious Gate in the south of Shizaunai Woods. Then, venture to the left to find a maze. Complete the maze by following the paths 3 times with the spider lilies (red flowers), and the Bamboo Strike will appear.

10 – Niikappu’s Fork Bamboo Strike

Head northeast of Huranui’s Rest Inn and venture south of Twin Ponds of Hidaka to find this Bamboo Strike. It’s on a hill with some other settlers, but be warned, as you approach it will see two violent bears, so be ready to bloody your blade before doing this challenge.

All Teshio Ridge Bamboo Strike Locations in Ghost of Yotei

11 – Sakuru Bamboo Strike

In the snowy north region of Teshio Ridge, you will find this Bamboo Strike. It’s north of Sakuru Woods and up a mountain, marked with snow and some altars, so simply follow the golden bird to its destination to reach this Bamboo Strike.

12 – Hakodake Bamboo Strike

To the east of the Hakodake Mountains, you’ll be able to find this Bamboo Strike up the mountain. Despite the cold region, the frost will not damage Atsu as it will further up north. This Bamboo Strike is by a lone hut on the cliff, and completing it will see a fortune teller appear, and if you pay her 200 Coins, she will read your fortune and provide you with a new side mission.

13 – Sarobetsu Bamboo Strike

Head to Sarobetsu Lake in the north-west region, which is an Inn surrounded by an ice lake. From the Inn, head northeast and you’ll find this Bamboo Strike nearby, marked next to a large rock.

14 – Atago Bamboo Strike

Just above the Atago Rice Fields, you can find this Bamboo Strike. However, you’ll need to pick up and throw the spears and swords in the area. You can do this by holding R2 and pressing Square, as trying to start the Bamboo Strike before throwing away these weapons will see you hit by lightning every time.

15 – Matsumae Bamboo Strike

In the southern area of Oshima Coast, past the Atago Rice Fields, you can enter Castle Matsumae’s village area. To the right of this village and past the blossom tree path in a courtyard, is this Bamboo Strike activity. This Bamboo Strike also requires you to use your left hand, so prepare to use the left side of your controller.
